MARIAHILFERKIRCHE:
This church dedicated to Maria was for centuries long, after
the Mariazell,
the most visited pilgrimage destination in Styria.
The successful balance of this Baroque facade and the simple
elegance of
its two towers quaantee its place as one of the most beautiful
religious
buldings in Graz.
Pietro de Pomis, the architect who created the mausoleum and
Eggenberg
castle, lay the first foundations from 1607 to 1611
and was later buried
there in 1633. |
